Yule Ball 2019 @ Turner Hall Ballroom
Jan 11 – Jan 12 all-day

On behalf of the Office of the Headmaster, we would like to welcome students, alumni and faculty to attend this year’s bewitching celebration of the Triwizard Tournament at our annual Yule Ball, hosted at Turner Hall Ballroom, on January 11th and 12th.

Wizards, witches, alumni and magic students are all invited. Our beloved Headmaster has put the finishing charms on this year’s festivities and encourages all who attend to wear their very best dress robes, fancy dresses, cosplay or other festive apparel.

Please take caution when traveling via floo–some dark wizards have tampered with the chimneys. Best use caution and ride your broom or apparate instead.

Miniature Painting Sundays @ Greenfield
Jan 13 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Paint miniatures in the company of others—and make use our supplies!

  • Bring a project to work on, or browse for one on the shelves when you arrive.
  • Exchange advice with other minis painters of all skill levels.
  • Come and go as you please. Feel free to stay for an hour one week and four hours the next!

We supply: Brushes, paints, pallets, paper towel, water cups, and primer upon request.

When done for the day, painters are asked to clean their brushes and pallets, and empty their water cups.

Any miniature priming will need to be done outside the store. In extreme warm or cold weather, we suggest priming miniatures at home beforehand, and in a well-ventilated area.

We’ll see you on Sundays!

Dungeons & Dragons for Kids! (Class) @ Greenfield
Jan 13 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Welcome to Barristerberg Adventurers Academy!

This mythical and magical place is where young adventurers begin their journeys and build lifelong knowledge of how to be a great Dungeons & Dragons player.

Dungeons & Dragons isn’t just about tracking statistics and defeating imaginary dragons. The real fun of the game is in telling a communal story, cheering when your teamwork pays off, and laughing when everything goes wonky.

Class Event
This D&D “class” will prepare young players to join in on any of our D&D for Kids adventures in the future.

Stick around for a same-day adventure at 4:00PM, January 13!

Tier 1 Event
This “Tier 1” event will focus solely on the fundamentals of Dungeons & Dragons gameplay. Participants will learn the essentials of:

  • Choosing an adventuring class and race (elf, dwarf, gnome, human, etc) for their character;
  • Listening to descriptions of the story world and making choices for their characters;
  • Interacting with the Dungeon Master’s story world and the characters it contains;
  • Basic rules of adventuring and fighting (Example: Roll a die and add your attack value to see if you hit this goblin);
  • Acting in turn so that the whole group participates.

A “trimmed” portion of the Dungeons & Dragons rules will be used during this gameplay session. To continue learning the complete D&D ruleset, also join us for our Tier 2 and Tier 3 events.

Upon arriving, you’ll be given a pod of players to join, and settle in for an afternoon of legendary creatures, unforgettable plays, and free-for-all fun!

Then, for anyone who wants to play more games, we’ll break into new pods and do it all over again!

One Drink/Appetizer Minimum Per Person
We’re proud to host public gaming events in our pub, and to offer free admission to those events.
Please help us continue to run these events with a minimum order of one drink or appetizer.
Event minimum orders are subject to an 18% gratuity. Find out more.

New to Commander?
You’re welcome to join us! The Commander format, also known as Elder Dragon Highlander (EDH) is a casual Magic format featuring some truly unique deckbuilding options.

In Commander, each player chooses a legendary creature as the commander of their deck. They then play with a 99-card deck that contains only cards of their commander’s colors. Also, other than basic lands, each deck can only use one copy of any card. During the game, you can cast your commander multiple times, meaning your favorite Legendary Creature can come back again and again to lead the charge as you battle for victory!
