Learn to play Axis & Allies at this Mega Demo presented by Professor Steven Fratt of Trinity College.
Steven Fratt and crew will be on-hand at the Board Game Barrister at Gurnee Mills on Saturday, April 3rd from noon until 5PM to demonstrate the Axis & Allies 1940 Pacific game from Avalon Hill/Wizards of the Coast. Interested players can learn Axis & Allies by playing the game with the aid of Professor Fratt's volunteers. Players will rotate in and out of the game throughout the day.
Axis and Allies is the board game based on the world powers of World War II. Players can battle as the United States, Japan, Germany, and more. Players control the armies and industry of their country, producing infantry and artillery while battling for control of the world.
Dr. Steve Fratt is Chair of the History Department at Trinity College, Deerfield, IL. He is a graduate of Westmont College and UC Santa Barbara and published in American Civil War military history. He heads up a Military History emphasis in the History Major at Trinity which includes classes like Classical and Medieval Warfare, The Rise of Modern Warfare, Wars of America to 1900, Wars of the 20th Century, American Civil War, World War II, Nazi Germany, The Campaigns of Robert E. Lee, and others. He also teaches the History of Middle Earth class which deals with J. R. R. Tolkien's Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings. Dr. Fratt has created several MEGA-sized editions of games which he shares with the public when the opportunity presents itself.
